Route: Dehradun or Delhi - Rishikesh - Dehradun

Places covered: Rishikesh, Triveni Ghat, Ganga river, Haridwar

Rishikesh is one of the easiest offsite destinations in north India. It is close to Delhi and Dehradun, has resorts on the river and offers activities that suit teams. This plan is a framework we adapt to your goals, group size and budget.

Who it suits

Teams of fifteen to fifty people on a leadership retreat, team-building offsite or reward trip. Larger groups may need two properties. It works best from October to April. In the monsoon, rafting is suspended and roads are at risk, so we recommend flexible dates.

How the days flow

On day one, the group arrives at the resort, checks in and gathers for a welcome dinner. Day two is the working day: sessions in the morning, a long lunch, and an afternoon team activity such as rafting in season or a yoga and meditation workshop. The evening includes a Ganga aarti visit or a bonfire. Day three is a lighter day, with a morning session, a visit to Haridwar or a nature walk, and a farewell dinner. Day four is departure.

What we coordinate

  • Transport. Coaches or tempo travellers from Delhi or Dehradun, sized to the group.
  • The venue. A resort with rooms, dining and meeting space.
  • Activities. Rafting with licensed operators in season, yoga, a river-camp session or a team game.
  • Dietary needs. Many Rishikesh resorts are vegetarian, and we confirm dietary arrangements in advance.
  • Safety. Briefings on water, activity limits and local rules.
  • One contact for the organiser.

Practical considerations

Meeting rooms vary in size, so we visit or check before booking. Rafting depends on river level and weather, and we plan an alternative. Alcohol is restricted in much of Rishikesh, and we explain the rules to participants. We avoid scheduling sessions on peak weekends, when traffic and crowds increase.

Why Rishikesh works for teams

The river and the setting do some of the work. A morning yoga class, a shared meal by the Ganga and an evening on the ghats put people in a different frame of mind. Small touches, such as a welcome note or a talk by a local guide, make the offsite feel considered.

Costs

Pricing depends on group size, resort category, season and activities. We provide a written quote with inclusions and exclusions for approval.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days do I need for Uttarakhand?

Five to seven days covers Rishikesh, Haridwar and Mussoorie comfortably. Add two days for Nainital and Corbett. A Kedarnath and Badrinath journey needs seven to nine days because the roads are slow and weather can force changes. Trying to cover Garhwal and Kumaon in four days leaves you in the car.

When is river rafting open in Rishikesh?

Rafting generally runs from about September to June, and is suspended in the monsoon when the Ganga is high. The exact opening and closing dates are decided each year by the authorities, who also set safety rules. Rafting is not a certainty on any given day, so we keep a backup plan.

Is it safe to visit Uttarakhand in the monsoon?

It can be done, but it carries real risk. Heavy rain in July and August causes landslides and road closures, especially on the routes to Kedarnath, Badrinath and the Kumaon hills. If you must travel then, choose lower destinations such as Rishikesh and Dehradun, keep dates flexible and follow weather and district alerts.
