Uttarakhand Honeymoon Packages

Hill stations, a riverside stay and a lake town for couples: Mussoorie, Rishikesh and Nainital planned with honest drive times and quieter hotels.

Need a different route or pace?

Tell us your travel dates, group size, starting point, preferred stay category and budget range. We will use those details to prepare a more relevant Uttarakhand plan.

Uttarakhand suits couples who like green hills, lakes, forest walks and slow evenings more than beaches or nightlife. It is not a resort destination in the Goa or Maldives sense. The charm lies in a cottage with a mountain view, a river at dusk, a lake at dawn and quiet cafes. The challenge lies in crowds, traffic and long hill roads, which is why planning matters.

What our couple plans usually include

  • Two nights in Mussoorie or Landour, in a hotel away from the busiest stretch of the Mall, with views where possible.
  • Two nights in Rishikesh, in a riverside resort or boutique stay, with the Ganga aarti, an optional yoga class and a gentle rafting trip in season.
  • Two nights in Nainital or its quieter neighbours, with a lake view room, a boat ride and a slow evening walk.
  • Private car and driver, with sensible start times and rest stops.
  • Small extras on request, such as a candlelit dinner, a bonfire, flowers in the room or a photographer, arranged in advance.

Choosing the season

March to June and September to November are the most pleasant periods. December to February is cold and may bring light snow in Mussoorie, though snowfall cannot be guaranteed. July and August are monsoon months, with landslide risk and fog, and are not our first choice for a honeymoon. Weekends and holidays are crowded in the hill stations, so we place stays midweek where possible.

Honest notes for couples

Hill roads are long and winding, and some days involve four to seven hours of driving. We keep these to a minimum and break long legs with lunch stops. Hotels in the hill stations vary widely in quality, and noise from the Mall and from other guests can be an issue, so we choose carefully. Rafting is seasonal, and weather may change plans. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not available in some pilgrimage areas of Rishikesh and Haridwar.

How to pick a package

Start with the Uttarakhand honeymoon, 6 nights. If you prefer a shorter trip, the Uttarakhand classic covers Haridwar, Rishikesh and Mussoorie. If you want forest and wildlife with a hill station, see the Nainital and Corbett tour.

Helpful answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Uttarakhand good for a honeymoon?

It suits couples who like hills, lakes and forests rather than beaches. Mussoorie, Nainital and a riverside stay in Rishikesh make a calm, scenic trip. Weekends and holidays are crowded, so we recommend midweek stays and quieter hotels outside the main bazaars.

Where can I see snow in Uttarakhand?

Snowfall is most reliable from December to February at Auli, Chopta, Dhanaulti and the higher parts of Mussoorie and Nainital, but it depends on the year. Roads can be icy or closed. If snow matters, travel in January or early February and keep your plan flexible.

How far is Uttarakhand from Delhi?

Haridwar and Rishikesh are about five to six hours from Delhi by road, Mussoorie about six to seven, and Nainital and Corbett about five to seven. A newer Delhi to Dehradun expressway has been shortening some drives, so check current road status. Trains and flights to Dehradun and Pantnagar are alternatives.
