Route: Chandigarh - Shimla - Chandigarh
Places covered: Chandigarh, Shimla, Kufri, Mall Road
Shimla is the easiest Himachal hill station to reach from Delhi and Chandigarh, and many hotels have meeting rooms, large dining halls and event spaces. This plan is a framework for a team offsite, with a work session, a team activity and an outing, which we adapt to your goals, group size and season.
Who it suits
Teams of fifteen to eighty people on a leadership retreat, team-building offsite, reward trip or review meeting. It also works for smaller groups, with a single meeting room and a few activities.
How the days flow
Day one is the drive from Chandigarh to Shimla, about three and a half hours, with a welcome dinner. Day two starts with a morning work session at the hotel, followed by lunch, a team activity in the afternoon and an evening at leisure. Day three combines a morning outing to Kufri or the Ridge with a free afternoon and a farewell dinner. Day four is the drive back.
What we coordinate
- Venue. Rooms, meeting space, projector and dining at a hill-station hotel.
- Transport. Group vehicles for arrival, departure and outings.
- Activities. Team-building games, guided walks, a heritage walk or a visit to Kufri.
- Dietary needs. Vegetarian, Jain and other requests arranged in advance.
- Alcohol and curfew policies, agreed with the organiser.
- One point of contact for the organiser.
Planning notes
Choose dates well ahead, as good venues fill up from April to June and December to January. Share the agenda with the hotel early. Check weather and road conditions before departure, and allow a buffer day in the monsoon. Consider motion sickness on the winding road, and plan breaks.
Why Shimla works for offsites
Shimla is the easiest Himachal hill station to reach and has a large stock of hotels with banquet halls and meeting rooms. Its cool climate makes it attractive in summer, and its history gives it character. Evenings on the Mall, a heritage walk or a visit to Kufri give the group something to share beyond the meeting room. For teams from Delhi or Chandigarh, travel time is reasonable, and the break from the office is real.
Options to add
A guided heritage walk, a toy train ride, a bonfire evening, a cooking class, a short trek or a visit to an apple orchard are all popular additions. Each can be added or dropped to match your budget and the mood you want.
