Seven days allows a fuller loop through Garhwal and Kumaon without rushing. This plan runs from Rishikesh to Mussoorie, then to Corbett and Nainital, with one long drive. It leaves out the Char Dham shrines, which need their own journey.

Who it suits: travellers who want variety, families with older children and groups of friends. Pace: three drive days and four lighter days. Seasonal tweaks: from mid-November to June the plan is as written, because Corbett's core zones are open. In the monsoon, we recommend a different plan.

The shape of the week. The first days are about the river and the hills of Garhwal, the middle days about a long drive and wildlife, and the last days about Nainital's lake. Making it easier. Start early on drive days and plan rest in the afternoons. If you want a calmer trip, drop Mussoorie and add a night at Corbett. If you want to avoid the longest drive, fly into Pantnagar for the last stretch.

Getting around. A private car handles all transfers, so you rarely need to arrange anything yourself. This route combines elements of our Classic Uttarakhand tour and Nainital and Corbett tour. For a slower pace, ask us to remove a stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many days do I need for Uttarakhand?

Five to seven days covers Rishikesh, Haridwar and Mussoorie comfortably. Add two days for Nainital and Corbett. A Kedarnath and Badrinath journey needs seven to nine days because the roads are slow and weather can force changes. Trying to cover Garhwal and Kumaon in four days leaves you in the car.

When is Jim Corbett National Park open?

Most safari zones open in mid-November and close around mid-June for the monsoon, though Jhirna and some buffer areas have stayed open through the rains. Dhikala stays and some zones need advance booking, and rules change each season. We confirm zones and slots before quoting. Tiger sightings are never guaranteed.

Is it safe to visit Uttarakhand in the monsoon?

It can be done, but it carries real risk. Heavy rain in July and August causes landslides and road closures, especially on the routes to Kedarnath, Badrinath and the Kumaon hills. If you must travel then, choose lower destinations such as Rishikesh and Dehradun, keep dates flexible and follow weather and district alerts.
